Troubleshooting-Updating Nokia Software Updater Fails

Nokia Software Updater updating can be interrupted for various reasons:
  • Downloading the update package from Nokia's Firmware Repository server fails.
  • You do not have administrator rights.
  • Installing the update in your computer fails.
If downloading the latest version of Nokia Software Updater from Nokia's Firmware Repository server is interrupted, an alert message is displayed. To correct the problem, try the following:
  • Check that you have administrator rights.
  • Check your network connection.
  • If the network connection seems to be working and you can access the Internet, try the update again. If downloading the update still does not work, there may be some network problem or Nokia's Firmware Repository server may be temporarily unavailable.
  • In some cases, the computer's firewall program may prevent other applications from gaining access to the Internet. See Troubleshooting: Firewall prevents Internet connection.
If updating the Nokia Software Updater is still unsuccessful, you can install the update manually:
  • Make sure you have administrator rights.
  • Uninstall the old version from your computer.
  • Go to www.nokia.com pages and download the latest Nokia Software Updater installation package onto your computer's hard drive.
  • Locate the downloaded installation file on the hard drive.
  • Double-click the installation file. The installer program will start and guide you through the installation process.
